Getting started
This guide takes you from a new account to live data and your first alert. It takes about ten minutes.
1. Create your account
- Go to portal.televane.com/signup.
- Enter your name, work email, organization name and a password of at least 12 characters, and accept the Terms of Service.
- Open the confirmation email and click the link. Your organization is created with a free 14-day Pro trial — no card needed.
- Sign in at portal.televane.com.
2. Connect your first server
- In the portal, open Add data. Under Add a server, choose Windows or Linux.
- Click Generate installation command and Copy command. The command contains a one-time token that expires after 15 minutes.
- Run it on the server: in PowerShell as Administrator on Windows, or in a shell with
sudoon Linux. - Within a minute or two the server appears under Hosts, with CPU, memory, disk and network charts.
Step-by-step guides with requirements and troubleshooting: Windows · Linux.
3. Send application traces (optional)
Instrument your services with OpenTelemetry and send traces, metrics and logs to Televane to see request latency, errors and the service map. See OpenTelemetry.
4. Create your first alert
- Open Alerts in the portal and choose a template — for example Host CPU critical or Host not reporting — or create a rule of your own.
- Add a notification channel such as email or a webhook under Administration › Notifications.
- Save. Televane evaluates the rule every 15 seconds and notifies the channel when it fires. Related alerts are grouped into one incident.
5. Invite your team
Under Administration › Users, invite colleagues and choose their role. The number of users depends on your plan: 1 on Free, up to 10 on Pro and up to 50 on Business.
