PlatformIoT and edge
Devices and gateways, even on slow links.
Run the Televane agent on an edge gateway — a Raspberry Pi or an industrial PC — and turn MQTT readings and messages from your devices into metrics, logs and alerts.
What is IoT and edge monitoring?
IoT monitoring collects readings and messages from devices such as sensors, meters and machines, usually through a gateway that speaks MQTT. Edge sites often have small hardware and slow or metered links, so data must be summarised and buffered close to the devices.
The Televane agent runs on the gateway, subscribes to your MQTT broker, turns readings into metrics and messages into logs, and sends them within a bandwidth limit you set.
MQTT in, insight out
Subscribes to your broker; never publishes.
- MQTT 3.1.1 over TCP or TLS, QoS 0 and 1, with wildcard topic filters
- Numbers, on/off values and JSON payloads become per-device metrics
- Text messages become searchable logs, with secrets masked
- Up to 1,000 devices per gateway by default

Built for the edge
Small devices, metered links.
- Readings summarised on the gateway (min, max, average, last) before upload
- Upload bandwidth cap and a disk buffer for outages
- Runs on 32- and 64-bit ARM and x86
Get started in three steps
- Create a free account — Sign up at portal.televane.com. The Free plan needs no card, and new organizations can try Pro free for 14 days.
- Install the agent on the gateway — Install the Linux agent on the edge gateway and add your MQTT broker and topics to its configuration.
- See every device — Readings become per-device metrics and messages become searchable logs. Alert when a reading leaves its range.

IoT and edge: common questions
How does Televane collect IoT data?
The agent runs on an edge gateway and subscribes to your MQTT broker (MQTT 3.1.1 over TCP or TLS). Readings become metrics and text messages become logs.
Does it work on slow or metered connections?
Yes. Readings are summarised on the gateway, uploads can be capped, and a disk buffer covers outages.
